The gummies subjected to the recall, according to NAFDAC, include SKITTLES Gummies, STARBURST Gummies, and LIFE SAVERS Gummies.
The NAFDAC public alert with No.034/2022 was signed by NAFDAC Director-General, Prof. Moji Adeyeye and posted on the health agency’s official website.
Adeyeye implored all distributors and members of the public already in possession of the recalled products to immediately stop their selling and consumption.
The agency further advised that anyone in possession of the recalled products should hand over their stock to the nearest NAFDAC office.
“On the back of the package is a 10-digit manufacturing code; the first three digits in this code will indicate an implicated product,” Adeyeye said.
The details of the recalled products are already posted on the NAFDAC website, the agency said.
The NAFDAC said, “Consumers are encouraged to report consumer complaints, any allergic reaction related to the use of any regulated product to the nearest NAFDAC office, NAFDAC PRASCOR (20543 TOLL-FREE from all networks), via This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or the NAFDAC ADR e-Reporting platform available at www.nafdac.gov.ng.”
