The wife of the president, who was represented by the wife of Borno State Governor, Hajiya Nana Shettima, at the distribution exercise, said, “it is time for everyone in the country to get involved in the fight against malnutrition, in order to prevent any more death. “Everybody should get involved to prevent the death of our children from malnutrition, and this they must do now.”
She added that with the active involvement of everyone, the battle to put a stop to the death, through malnutrition among the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) would be achieved. “Collective efforts of all well-meaning Nigerians, will ensure that no child at IDP camps, as well as other parts of the country lack good diet,” Shettima said.
She noted that the distribution of food items to 1,500 families within the host community was the first after about 4,000 IDPs were impacted during the last Ramadan.
