A nurse attending to a sickle cell patient YouTubeMrs Nkechi Ikpeazu, wife of Abia Governor, on Wednesday said the aspiration of her foundation, Vicar Hope Foundation (VHF), was to provide free routine drugs to suffers of sickle cell anaemia.

Ikpeazu spoke in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on the sidelines of a counselling session organised by the foundation for sickle cell patients in Umuahia.

In a statement signed by the Deputy National Chairman of the party, Waheed Lawal, the NCP urged Osinbajo to order the immediate arrest of Prof. Yusuf for daring the health minister by refusing to go on suspension..

NHIS Probe: Osinbajo Orders Fair Hearing

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has called for fair hearing in the ongoing probe of the Executive Secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), Professor Usman Yusuf, who was controversially suspended over allegations of N960 million fraud. A highly placed source in the Presidency told our correspondent last night that the acting president had, in a letter dated July 13 and written to the Ministry of Health, noted the suspension.
 
The source also quoted the acting president as demanding that his office be briefed after the investigation.

The Gauteng Department of Health in partnership with organisations EQUIP and Right to Care are engaging in a pilot project to ensure sufficient and easy access to treatment by people living with HIV/ AIDS. To achieve the 90-90-90 challenge – a plan to ensure that 90% of all South Africans know their HIV status by 2020 – the pharmacy dispensing units are being set up in selected areas of Johannesburg to ensure accessibility of HIV/Aids treatment.

Governor of Anambra state Dr Willie ObianoAnambra State Government has earmarked N200 million for the commencement of the Anambra State Health Insurance pilot scheme. Mr Tony Nnacheta, the state Commissioner for Information, Communication and Strategy, made this known during news on Monday in Awka.

Nnacheta said the pilot scheme would begin before the end of this fiscal year and would cover only civil servants.
