Bauchi State Coordinator, WHO, Mr. Hassan Abdullahi Gumbi who spoke in Bauchi while marking the World Polio Day on Monday said that “We are now actively taking samples from our gutters, sewage and other areas for testing in Polio designated lab in Ibadan. We must continue the testing until there is no more trace of the virus.
“We have case of vaccine drive polio from a human in Lagos State, one in Anambra, we have so many in the northern states –this is traced to those in the sewage,” Hassan said. He further urged voluntary testing and immunisation to contain the virus after certification of polio free presented to Nigeria Government two months ago.
