He said the private public partnership (PPP) with Nigeria’s public hospitals will bridge the gap in healthcare funding especially in area of diagnosis. According to Mr. Kato, the company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, while that of other hospitals will soon commence.
The president, Fujitop Japan Limited, Mr. Odafe Honey said Fujitop Japan Limited, the parent company of Nijap-Fuji has been in the business of medical equipment for the past 13 years but decided to extend its operations to Nigeria last year. He, however, stated that since last year, the company had embarked on feasibility studies and research before it decided to start business this year.
He disclosed that the terms of agreement would include, purchase of medical equipment, shipping & clearance, installation, training on usage and maintenance/servicing. Kato added that some of the equipment to be supplied include, CT, MRI, ECHO at zero cost to the hospitals on a public partnership agreement.
