Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State has assured of the commitment of his administration to provide comprehensive, affordable and qualitative healthcare for the people of the state.“The idea behind this noble gesture is the need to extend healthcare services to all parts of the state to ensure the good health and well-being of our people,” Ayade said.
He noted that the renovation and upgrading of all existing primary health centres across the 18 local government areas of the state had begun to ensure that health care delivery was brought to grassroots.
“We are today unveiling the following polices: Cross River State Strategic Health Care Plan, Cross River State Human Resource for Health, Cross River State Multi-Year Operationalisation Plan, Cross River State Tax Shifting Policy and Guidelines on Health Insurance,” he said.
According to him, the Cross River State Insurance Bill had been passed and signed into law to make health care delivery accessible to the less privileged in the state, while skilled personnel have been employed to promptly and professionally attend to the needs of the patients.
“As a first step, we recently employed qualified medical personnel, who have been deployed to all local governments of the state to ensure appropriate diagnosis and management of patients.”
He said the construction of dedicated Ayade Care Specialist Hospitals in every local government had started and upon completion, will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and latest medical technology to handle specialized cases.
