According to Lilly Women’s Health, a group of medical professionals that brought the technology into the country, the move was inspired by the need to provide women with breast cancer affordable services that will help save more lives.
Speaking at the unveiling of the equipment, a radiologist and member of the group, Dr Lily Iboma said the move would not only boost the fight against the deadly disease but also improve the health of women in the society.
She said, “The arrival of this mobile mammogram coach would help the fight against breast cancer in the country. There have been several awareness campaigns on breast cancer, but now is the time for action. This equipment will help women in detecting the disease early because this machine would meet them where they work, trade and worship. It has been designed for their convenience.”
