29164 1The Association of Resident Doctors (ARD), Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Idi-Araba has suspended its indefinite strike, which commenced on June 7, 2019.

Its President, Dr. Kayode Makinde, told The Guardian that the decision was reached after the intervention of Chairman of the board and Ministry of Health.

“We have had our meeting and work will resume tomorrow based on the intervention. They have made promises to address our demands. We believe them and that is why we allowed them to intervene.

“We honored them by suspending the strike, as we expect them to keep their own side of the bargain in the interest of all Nigerians,” he said. However, during a visit to LUTH yesterday, doctors were sighted attending to patients, while clinics were opened. Makinde, who spoke on the telephone said after the meeting on Saturday, LUTH’s management made some offers to appeal to the striking doctors.
