Although when our correspondent contacted him on Saturday to verify if the number of doctors and dentists on trial had changed, Sanusi said he would speak on the issue during the trial.
Giving a reason for the huge number of medical practitioners being investigated and tried during the induction, Sanusi said the accumulation was as a result of the ban placed on the council by the Federal Government, which prevented it from sitting for several years.
He said, “All these happened because the council was in abeyance for some years. When the Federal Government made a pronouncement to dissolve boards of parastatals, unfortunately, the council was included, thereby disturbing the regulatory activities of the council.
“The disciplinary organ of the MDCN is the only avenue that people who do not have money can access to get justice or redress if they felt something had gone wrong in the process of being treated.”
