NAFDAC warns traders against using insecticide to preserve foodstuffs
The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control warned the general public against the use of Sniper and all other brands of ‘Dichlorvos’ in the preservation of foodstuffs.

Doctors in Cross River begin indefinite strike over abducted colleague
The Nigerian Medical Association, Cross River chapter, on Wednesday embarked on an indefinite strike over the kidnapping of its member, Godwin Udo, of the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital. Innocent Abang, the state Chairperson of NMA disclosed this in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday.
Mr Abang told NAN that Mr Udo was kidnapped from his residence at Bateba Street on November 1.He said the association had decided that anytime a medical doctor or his/her dependent was kidnapped, they would embark on an indefinite strike until the victim was released.

NCDC records 155 new COVID-19 cases , 4 more casualties
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has recorded 155 new cases of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), as the total number of confirmed cases soared to 63,328.
The Director-General of the NCDC, Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu, who spoke on Wednesday in Abuja while giving an update on COVID-19 infections in Nigeria, said four deaths had been recorded in the past 24 hours. He disclosed that the 155 new cases were recorded in eight states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Fear of COVID-19 as 57 die mysteriously in Enugu
There are fears that the 57 mysterious deaths in Enugu State may be connected to COVID-19. The state government has sent samples to the National Reference Laboratory for investigation.
At least, 57 strange deaths occurred in Ette Uno and Umuopu communities of Enugu Ezike in Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area (LGA). Commissioner for Health, Dr Emmanuel Obi, added that his ministry’s Rapid Response Team visited Council. “On-the-spot-check and outbreak investigation has revealed a number of deaths from an illness with symptoms suggestive of a disease of public health importance,” the commissioner said.
