A Sexual and Reproductive Health expert, Dr. Yemi Adeyemi, has urged men to pay better attention to changes in the colour of their semen, noting that semen colour could be signs of serious health conditions.
Dr. Adeyemi explained that normal semen should be whitish-gray, adding that men ejaculating a brownish, orange tinge, pink or red semen should seek medical intervention. Lagos govt, firm to unravel source of contaminated milk
The Lagos State Government has assured residents that it would work with the producers of the contaminated milk, Friesland Campina, to unravel the source of the hazardous product. NHIS develops 10-year strategic plan for universal health coverage
The National Health Insurance Scheme says it had developed a ten-year strategic plan 2020 to 2030 to serve as a road map for achieving the scheme’s mandate.
Prof. Mohammed Sambo, Executive Secretary of the scheme, disclosed this at a press conference in Abuja, on Tuesday.
He said that NHIS has developed a ten-year strategic plan from 2020 to 2230 which serves as a road map for achieving its mandate. “The implementation of the plan has commenced with efforts aimed at the attainment of Universal Health Coverage in Nigeria, with a clear focus and milestones that could easily and accurately be tracked,’’ he said.

A Paediatric Endocrinologist at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba, Dr. Elizabeth Oyenusi, has advised parents that have children living with Type 1 diabetes to ensure they take their insulin regularly. She warned that if they fail to take the insulin medication as recommended, they could come down with complications such as blindness and kidney problem.
Dr. Oyenusi, who is also a consultant paediatrician said insulin, is a hormone that helps to regulate the amount of sugar, or glucose, in the blood, noted that lack of effective insulin plays a key role in the development of diabetes.

A Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba, Dr. Babasola Okusanya, has warned traditional birth attendants and private hospitals without safe caesarean section delivery facilities to desist from carrying out labour induction.
He said the medical procedure should be carried out by a specialist and only necessary based on certain clear medical indications. Dr. Okusanya, who said this during an interview with PUNCH Healthwise also cautioned pregnant women to be wary of quacks that operate in such facilities.
