Dr Pamela Ajayi is an experienced physician, an environmentalist, and an award-winning entrepreneur.

She obtained her medical degree from the College of Medicine, University of Lagos and postgraduate training as a Chevening Scholar, at St Thomas Hospital and Kings College Hospital London, United Kingdom.

A multi-disciplinary Administrator, Technocrat, and Business Leader. Dr Ajayi has an impeccable record of excellence in Management and purpose-oriented leadership with over 30 years of experience in both the Healthcare and Banking sectors. An alumnus of the University of London, University of Lagos, Harvard and Lagos Business Schools. Dr Ajayi has attended leadership training at top global institutions in the United States, Dubai and the United Kingdom.

She also serves on the Board of a number of organizations, including the Healthcare Federation of Nigeria (HFN), The Bridge clinic, and BOOM4GOOD Meningitis Foundation where she is the Chairperson. She belongs to numerous professional bodies such as the Guild of Medical Directors, Association of Private Medical Practitioners of Nigeria, Medical Women's Association of Nigeria (MWAN), Nigerian Society of Travel Medicine, Society of Lifestyle Medicine of Nigeria (SOLONg), Institute of Directors (IOD) and the Health Writers Association of Nigeria amongst others. She currently serves on the health subcommittees of the Institute of Directors Nigeria and Ikoyi Club 1938.

Passionate about the improvement of the quality and standards in healthcare delivery, she spearheaded the transformation of pathology services in Nigeria when PathCare Nigeria became the first internationally accredited ISO 15189 laboratory in West Africa in 2006 bringing in many sophisticated pathology tests that were previously not available in Nigeria. In 2014, she established the first pathology Public and Private Partnership (PPP) initiative with the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) to help make quality Healthcare accessible in Nigeria.

Through her leadership, PathCare Nigeria (now SYNLAB Nigeria) became the leading provider of pathology services in Nigeria with over 27 locations in 11 states. Recent innovations include genetic testing and promoting primary preventive care in Nigeria. A first mover in providing support during the COVID19 Pandemic, SYNLAB also recently became one of the first laboratories to be accredited by Lagos State for COVID19 testing.

Dr Ajayi's belief in empowering people through knowledge led to the establishment of the biannual Doctors Forum, where she worked with Doctors in the Diaspora and other medical experts in bringing advances in medical practice free to Nigerian doctors around the country. She has empowered the general public to provide preventive healthcare radio programs for the past 10 years in both English and Pidgin. She created and anchors the popular weekly medical radio program, ''Doctors on Air'' which has a reach of over 5 million listeners in Lagos, (previously also in Abuja and Port- Harcourt). The annual 'Doctors on Air' Medical Mission outreach has impacted thousands of lives by providing free medical care to various communities in and around Lagos.

Dr Ajayi is the recipient of several local and international awards such as:
