The finding is the outcome of a scorecard on Nigers budgeting presented by CHR as a coalition of civil society organisations and media working on routine immunisation met in Minna, with directors of Niger State Primary Health Care Development Agency, according to a statement.

CHR programme officer Ndidi Chukwu called on Niger government to develop a separate budget line for routine immunisation to enable it implementation vaccination against childhood killer diseases. In a communiqué at the end of meetings in Minna, stakeholders lamented piecemeal release of budgeted funding for routine immunisation, amidst worry that Niger released only 30% of funding meant for immunisation in 2015.

The group has also urged Niger government to ensure civil society organisations and media take part in budgeting to strengthen accountability and transparency.
