Paediatricians and gynaecologists should carry out proper diagnosis and then refer such patients to neurosurgeons. He said that hydrocephalus could lead to child blindness, deafness, paralysis, uncontrolled urine, stool and death if left untreated.
Also speaking, Dr Charles Ugwuanyi, a neurosurgeon at the National Hospital, Abuja, said that with the introduction of the new Medtronic neuronavigation machine, less would be spent by Nigerians on foreign medical trips. He called on the government and private concerns to come together to find solution to health problems of Nigerians.
