Sokoto Sponsors 100 Medical Students in India

SokotoOne hundred Sokoto students, offered scholarship by the state government to study Medicine and other medical-related courses in India, were yesterday warned against drug abuse
The chairman of the state scholarship board, Altine Shehu Kajiji gave the warning at a two-day orientation programme held for 100 out of 200 students to be trained abroad by the state government in Medicine and allied courses.
Kajiji who was represented by Sarkin Kabin Kebbe Abubakar Kassim stressed the need for them to shun negative tendencies and be good ambassadors of the state and nation.
He said the state government expended huge resources to sponsor their studies in order to address manpower shortage in its health sector.
A member of the scholarship board, Shehu Dalhatu, said the beneficiaries were selected on merit.
